Country music artists Kristian Bush and Charlie Worsham will appear at the National Press Club in Washington on Wednesday, June 22 for an acoustic performance and press Q&A session around the Country Music Association (CMA) Foundation's Music Education Initiative.
The CMA Foundation is joining the National Association for Music Education's annual fly-in, as both organizations are committed to music education. With the passage of the federal education law Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), CMA and the CMA Foundation have invited these artists and other music industry influencers to meet with congressional representatives to reinforce the importance of music education.
Since 2006, CMA and the CMA Foundation have donated more than $13.6 million to music education initiatives across the country, benefitting 30 in- and after-school programs. Guided by the generosity of the Country Music community, the CMA Foundation focuses on improving and sustaining music education programs everywhere while supporting worthwhile causes important to the Country Music Association. Donations are made on behalf of the artists who perform each year, for free, during CMA Music Festival.
