Keyondra Lockett continues to forge her path of independence, fueled by creativity and entrepreneurship. The gifted vocalist/songwriter and savvy businesswoman just inked a partnership between IndieBlue/Entertainment One Entertainment and her Bella Dawn Music record label. Through the partnership, her debut solo album will be released in September.
Keyondra Lockett says: "You cannot do good business without good partners, and my team and I are confident that IndieBlue has the right combination of vision, expertise and access to take this music as far as it can go. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Gina Miller and the entire Entertainment One/Indie Blue team.
Lockett has a new single at radio now. "Try" was produced by Tedy P (Jor'Dan Armstrong, Briana Babineaux, Uncle Reece, Micah Stampley) and boasts an arresting, mid-tempo beat that underscores lyrics that are reflective, empowering and represent the voice of young people around the world who are striving to live their best, authentic lives. "Try" is inspirational without being preachy, boasting refreshing, lush urban pop overtures that have captured the attention of programmers and deejays at radio stations around the country including Hot97 (New York), KHVN (Dallas), KDYA (Oakland/SF) and more. Additionally, the song was recently the third most added song at Gospel radio and is the current "Power Pick" for the Bobby Jones Gospel Countdown radio show.
As her album release date approaches, Lockett will make appearances in Atlanta, Dallas, Shreveport and New York this summer. She will also make appearances at the Essence Music Festival this weekend, including the SiriusXM live broadcast and the McDonald's 365Black Awards.
