Kevin Morby Announces 'Harlem River' 5-Year Anniversary Remix Image

Kevin Morby released his beloved solo debut album Harlem River five years ago, and to celebrate its anniversary, Woodsist Records will be releasing a special remix 12-inch featuring a new extended version of the title track and two remixes by Peaking Lights. The record will be out December 6 digitally, with a vinyl release to follow later in the month.

"I wanted to do something to honor the title track off of my debut album, Harlem River, turning 5 years old this year," says Morby. "It's been very good to me over the past half decade as well as a staple in my live show. I've asked Aaron from Peaking Lights to breath some new life into it and give it a remix... I wrote the song to be about new explorations, and it continues to give me - year after year - just that."

Morby will be playing at Gold Digger's in Los Angeles on December 6, performing "Harlem River" for an hour with special guests Meg Duffy, Kyle Thomas of King Tuff, William Tyler, Eric Johnson of Fruit Bats, Rodrigo Amarante, and Aaron Coyes of Peaking Lights. Tickets are $5 at the door, and proceeds will go to California Community Foundation's Wildfire Relief Fund.
