Amarillo native and Texas country icon, Kevin Fowler, released his new single "Sellout Song" featuring Zane Williams on April 18, 2016. "Sellout Song" represents the light-hearted and energetic side of Fowler that fans have previously seen in songs like, "Don't Touch My Willie."
"I love the song because of the way it kind of lightheartedly pokes fun at country music these days," Fowler says. "It's not mean spirited. It's just a funny little parody about the state of country music."
Fowler says he first heard the song while playing an acoustic "song swap" show with Zane Williams. Williams has written songs like "Ride With Me" by Cody Johnson and Pat Green's most recent single, "While I Was Away." When Williams first played the song, Fowler says he "couldn't stop laughing and immediately knew I wanted to record it." He exhibits a certain enthusiasm for this type of song that he admits has become a presence in his music. "I've always been known for my tongue-in-cheek funny stuff. I think this song could be another funny Fowler classic."
"Sellout Song" is available now as Fowler gears up for a run of spring and summer tour dates.
