Kermit Ruffins and Irvin Mayfield have released their collaborative album celebrating the 20th anniversary of New Orleans label Basin Street Records, A Beautiful World, today. The album features many artists on the label, including Rebirth Brass Band, Dr. Michael White, Jason Marsalis, and Bill Summers, and others including Cyril Neville, George Porter Jr., Haley Reinhart, Shane Theriot, and Glen David Andrews. Stream or Download the record here.

In celebration of Basin Street's 20th anniversary, trumpeters and long time friends Kermit Ruffins, the big easy ambassador of good times and Rebirth Brass Band co-founder, who has appeared on HBO's Treme, Bravo's Top Chef, Late Night with Stephen Colbert, and the soundtrack for Disney's Jungle Book in a duet with Bill Murray and backing Christopher Walken, and Irvin Mayfield, two-time Grammy-award winner, Billboard Music Award-winner, author, and producer join forces on A Beautiful World. The two stand as Basin Street's most recorded artists, and helped put the New Orleans label on the global map. On the process of making the album, Ruffins explains, "Good music and good food are my passions. I wanted to make a record people could eat." Mayfield brought this to life by bringing together 57 musicians to make the ultimate party in record form.

A Beautiful World is available today on all digital platforms, and on CD and Vinyl (includes free digital download) at your local record store and from BasinStreetRecords.com.

Additionally, in conjunction with the album, Basin Street Records has released a graphic novel (that includes album download code) by writer Amen Neville and illustrator Henry Lipkis, The One & Twos: Kermit, Irvin, and the Golden Record V.1-a story that follows the two battling a dark force in New Orleans with the help of many New Orleans music legends.
