Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and producer KERLI is breaking out with her latest track "The Lucky Ones," the first single off her upcoming EP for Island Records, UTOPIA, set for release March 19. The song has charted at #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart (marking KERLI's second #1 dance hit) and its accompanying video has racked up over YouTube 1,000,000 views.

The success of "The Lucky Ones" is propelled by its strong original version written by KERLI and produced with emerging Swedish SeventyEight, chart-busting remixes by Morgan Page and tyDi, and an alternative version with Syn Cole. "...it stood out to us as one of the cleanest progressive cuts we've heard in awhile," wrote Andrew Spada of Dancing Astronaut (1/19/13). "Syn Cole's silky smooth production style works well with Kerli's pop vocals to deliver a prime time dance track. Melodic builds, subtle stutters, and Kerli's larger than life vocal morph the original into a track suitable for big rooms and big recognition."

"The Lucky Ones" is one of seven songs Included on Utopia written and performed by KERLI. Much of it draws inspiration from both pop and dance genres and was recorded with SeventyEight, U.K. producer Switch (M.I.A., Diplo) and Australian DJ/producer tyDI, while overseen by former Katy Perry A&R man Chris Anokute at Island Def Jam.

Leading the charge is the anthemic, hook-laden "Can't Control The Kids," in which KERLI takes listeners on a powerful, rolling, percussive Journey to the nexus of where dance and pop intersect throughout, followed by "The Lucky Ones," an up-tempo and heartfelt number.

Other highlights include the chill-inducing, piano-driven offerings "Love Me Or Leave Me" and "Chemical"; the Switch-produced break-beat track "Sugar"; and "Glow In The Dark" which KERLI collaborated with tyDI. The track's socially conscious MTV Buzzworthy video has gained attention for speaking out against bullying and issues faced by teens all around the world.

Look for details regarding KERLI's several high-profile performance dates around the release of Utopia to be announced soon.
