Kenny Chesney is not ready to rest after his 23 stadium-date summer tour. His fall schedule is filling up fast and includes a new single, a milestone award, a new app, three CMA nominations, and more to be announced very soon.
September 5 - Chesney, a four-time CMA Entertainer of the Year winner, was once again nominated for the award, along with Music Video of the Year for "Come Over" and Musical Event of the Year for "Feel Like a Rock Star," his duet with Tim McGRaw. The award ceremony will be held at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on November 1.
September 6 - His new single "El Cerrito Place," from the gold-certified 'Welcome To The Fishbowl,' shipped to radio last week and was Monday's most-added song on country radio, according to Mediabase. It's the follow up to the smash track "Come Over," which was Chesney's twenty-fourth #1 single. "The longing of this frustrated, angry, soul-searching emotion this person is feeling... I think it defines a lot of people," Chesney said of "El Cerrito Place." "I have felt all that emotion, and I've lived the song for so long. I just love what it says and I love the way Keith Gattis wrote it."
September 22 - Chesney and his band will join Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp at Farm Aid on September 22. The concert, which will benefit the nation's family farmers, will be held at Hershey Park Stadium in Hershey, PA. Chesney last performed at Farm Aid's 25th anniversary concert in 2010.
September 24 - The Academy of Country Music will honor Chesney with a Crystal Milestone Award, which celebrates his selling more than 10.5 million tickets on recent tours and honors Chesney for helping developing country acts gain nationwide exposure. The event will be held at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
More to come - Chesney will release a package of mobile apps, designed to bring the experience of his albums and live shows directly to the user and will be announcing other special Fall 2012 performances.
