Kendra Erika Ranks #6 on Billboard Dance Chart for 'Under My Skin'

Since Erika's single "Oasis" topped the Billboard Dance Club chart, claiming the #9 spot earlier this year, she's thrilled to see how "Under My Skin" has risen above some nationally recognized performers within her dance category.

The single "Under My Skin" is also produced by Dauman Music/Big Deal/Sony/Red, Eric Sanicola and GRAMMY Award winning producer Damon Sharpe, who has written and/or produced for a wide array of pop artists, including Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Kylie Minogue, Kelly Rowland, Monica, 98 Degrees, Anastacia, Natalie Cole and Ginuwine.

Kendra and Damon came up with the concept and title of "Under My Skin" that wasn't too narrowed in, like a story between a guy and a girl, or a simple party song about one night at the club. They thought about making another visually strong track, so he came up with a "summer wind" concept. Kendra pointed out that that was a Frank Sinatra song, but it does have potential to be something amazing.

Kendra Erika and her producer, started to envision Sinatra's vibe and thought about doing an "I've Got You Under My Skin" concept - making it driven a younger generation. From there, the concept took form, and its meaning is endless. "It could mean that this person is under your skin, this vibe is under your skin, the music that the DJ is playing is under your skin, or anything else that is overtaking you in that moment is under your skin. The song itself never reveals exactly what it is that is under my skin as the artist, and that I feel is what makes it interesting because of the mystery behind it," says Erika.

The title "Under My Skin" is appealing to anyone, young and old. Those who know of Sinatra, know of this title and will love how it is brought back to current times. "Funny enough, since Sinatra is one of my inspirations for when I was doing a lot of jazz singing in the lounges and restaurants, it's just only fair to me as an artist to have something to pay my appreciation to him," says Erika.
