Kelsey Lu debuts a new song, "Due West," today, alongside a video directed by Australian filmmakers Cara Stricker and Mindy Le Brock-listen and watch here.
Of the song Lu explains, "'Due West'" is a continuation of the evolution of self. A continuous questioning of the romanticism of 'home' and what we leave behind in order to gain hope in what's ahead."
"Due West," produced by Rodaidh McDonald with additional work from Skrillex, is the latest from Kelsey Lu since unveiling "Shades of Blue" earlier this year to great critical acclaim. Of the track Pitchfork praised, "it's Lu's voice, emotionally generous and brimming with hairpin melodic turns, that remains her most potent instrument as she looks inward for resilience." Kelsey Lu's next body of work is due in 2019.
Following headline dates in Europe as well as shows with Blood Orange, serpentwithfeet and more, Kelsey Lu will headline FORM Topanga on November 17 in Los Angeles.
A vocalist, cellist and producer, Kelsey Lu's debut EP, Church, was released in 2016 to critical praise. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Kelsey Lu left home at 18 to study cello. Now based in Los Angeles, she has collaborated and shared stages with the likes of Solange, Sampha, Blood Orange, Kelela, Moses Sumney and many more.
