Kanisha K (www.kanishakmusic.com) isn't waiting till the 4th of July for fireworks - she's been exploding for weeks on the Adult Contemporary charts with her new single "Bring Me Home."
The emerging indie pop songstress continues her unstoppable chart success this week, hitting the Top 20 with a bullet on the FMQB AC40 Chart with her huge leap from #24 to #18.
The Holland, Mich.- based artist has been keeping superstar company all spring, and this week (on the chart ending July 1) is no exception. Her song is just behind the latest hits from superstars John Legend and Pharrell Williams and rising pop band Magic! -and ahead of Bastille, OneRepublic and Katy Perry.
"Bring Me Home" also has three new station adds and is the #5 Most Added track on the chart this week.
Kanisha K's track, the follow-up to her breakthrough hit "My Another Day," also moved from #34 to #33 on the Mediabase AC Chart, ahead of Richard Marx and Imagine Dragon and just behind David Guetta, Train and Maroon 5.
"Bring Me Home" is also at #41 (up from #42) on the BDS (Broadcast Data Systems) chart, which reports Billboard A/C activity. On the BDS list, she is just behind Avicii and a few slots above John Mayer, Coldplay and The Fray.
Kanisha K recently snagged a second Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) in the category of Best Pop Song for her tune "Stupid Boyfriend." Previously, she had earned a nomination in the same category for "My Another Day."
Kanisha, who in June sang the National Anthem for the West Michigan Whitecaps, the Detroit Tigers Single A minor league affiliate, located in Comstock Park, Mich., a suburb of Grand Rapids, has several upcoming performances scheduled.
Kanisha K will also be performing at The New Holland Brewery on July 19, and at the at The Gary-Southshore Railcats Vs. Gary T-Bones Baseball game on August 1, where she will also throw out the first pitch.
She will also perform at The Lakeshore Public Radio Free Entertainment Tent at the Lake County Fair in Crown Point, Indiana on Thursday, August 7. As part of R&B/Pop Night, Kanisha K will be headlining on a bill with the Michael Turner Band; Turner is the touring saxophonist with The Ohio Players.
She will be featured at H.O.M.E. at the B.O.B. in Grand Rapids on August 28 (thebob.com/homelivemusic.php), which is affiliated with the willplayforfoodfoundation.org.
"Bring Me Home" was produced by veteran producer and artist Larry King (Soleil Moon- lead vocalist in the Michael Thompson Band & Larry King Orchestra). The track features some of Chicago's top musicians, including John Blasucci on keyboards, Khari Parker on drums, Lamar Jones on bass and guitarist Chris Siebold.
The track was engineered and mixed by Grammy Award winner Craig Bauer, whose credits include Kanye West, The O'Jays, 98 Degrees, Richard Marx, Styx, Dave Koz, Public Enemy, Brian Culbertson, Nick Carter, Straight No Chaser and others.
"My Another Day," which was a Top 40 hit on the Mediabase A/C chart, was conceived as a healing post-breakup song but adopted by many fans as an anthem about overcoming addiction.
The infectious track reached #5 on the FMQB AC40 Chart alongside superstars like Pharrell Williams, Daughtry, One Direction, Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry and Lorde.
