Grammy nominee and multiplatinum recording artist Josh Turner will perform at the Orleans Showroom on November 1.
After graduating high school, Turner moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music and enrolled in Belmont University. After college, his fledgling career got a boost in 2001 during his debut on the "Grand Ole Opry," when he first introduced his hit song, "Long Black Train."
Known for his soulful vocals and thick South Carolina accent, Turner sites Johnny Cash's unconventional "At San Quentin" and Lyle Lovett's "Live in Texas" as inspiration for his own music career.
Turner's debut album's title track, "Long Black Train," was his breakthrough single release. His second album, "Your Man" was released in 2006 and accounted for his first two #1 hits "Your Man" and "Would You Go with Me." Released in 2007, Turner's album "Everything is Fine" included a #2 track titled "Firecracker." 2010's "Haywire" contained Turner's biggest hit, the #1 single "Why Don't We Just Dance," and another #1 in "All Over Me."
Turner's most recent album, "Punching Bag," was released in 2012. The album's lead single "Time Is Love" was the biggest hit of 2012, according to Billboard Year-End. The same year, Turner released "Live Across America," a full-length album featuring audio of live performances throughout his tour.
