Right on the heels of his inspirational holiday release "Christmas Again," Joseph Lorenzo Wise hits the ground running in 2016 with the release of his new single 'Papaparazzi" from the upcoming CD, SONGBOOK. The new single features the Beethoven Fifth like you've never heard it before. With new custom lyrics by Kai Cofer (the original Capital One Viking) and arranged by Cody Gillette, Wise reaches new heights in his rendition of "Papaparazzi".
"I think Beethoven would really like our version", Wise says, "I've always loved the Beethoven Fifth ever since I was a little boy. As a matter of fact, I used to conduct it in the mirror, after my piano lesson. I was much more interested in conducting Beethoven than banging notes on the keyboard, so I eventually switched over to violin."
This new 2016 version features Wise as a "Celebrity Superstar" being chased constantly by photographers. "I saw my picture in a magazine, was it Ebony or was it Seventeen, doesn't matter just as long as I get seen". The song ties the endless pursuit with the need to be chased and photographed as a matter of necessity in the biz. "It's really a lot of fun, and I get to scat too," he joyfully exclaims.
Wise, who landed a plum role playing a vocal coach in THE GRAND ROMANTIC, the 2015 short film starring Nate Reuss, says, "I used Nate as my inspiration for my 'Razzi' character, because he gets chased by paparazzi all the time, for real!"
The release date for "Papaparazzi" is Valentine's Day 2016, February 14, 2016, in all digital stores, with iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby leading the bunch. The new single is from the upcoming CD, SONGBOOK, which features ten live performances by Joseph Lorenzo in 2015. The release date for the full CD is March 16, 2016 in all digital stores.
"I just found out last year that Beethoven was a Sagittarian born on or around December 17th, my birthday," Wise says. "Some records say he was born on the 16th and baptized on the 17th and some say the 17th is the actual birthday either way, it's really uncanny, because I also found out in my research that it is possible that Beethoven was possibly bi-racial and was part Black."
He adds, "When Cody Gillette from OZmosis Records approached me about doing Beethoven, I was like 'I'm a Gospel and Pop Singer now.' I wasn't planning on doing any classical music, but when I heard the treatment and the lyrics, it was every singer and every actors dream. We are currently working on a flashy music video for 'Papaparazzi' and we can't wait to get Beethoven lovers all riled up!!!"
