The Los Angeles based artist Joni is excited to reveal a new single. Entitled "Airy" it was recorded in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles and premiered via Culture Creature who note, "The song's effortless, breezy melody lives up to the promise of its title." Of the track Joni says, "I wrote 'Airy' with an old friend and producer Pat Howard. We used to both live in Miami and I spent a lot of time floating in his pool and playing music. I think unconsciously, the song ended up being a reminder to hold on to that time in my life when things were uncomplicated and light."
Today's single is the follow up to Joni's debut "Omens" and like that track, was producedby Pat Howard and Noise Club. After finding success penning platinum-selling songs for some of the biggest mainstream artists of recent years Joni is now pivoting to write music for herself. In the summer of 2017 Joni moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles and became influenced by the iconic Laurel Canyon music aura. She worked with a small group of musician friends to explore a new sound and spirit. Her lush musical pallet is reminiscent of '60s and '70s psychedelia, but sits closer to current indie-heavyweights with its Grizzly Bear-esque guitars and vintage amp-colored vocals à la Feist.
