Singer Joni Mitchell remains in the hospital in intensive care after collapsing in her home in LA on Tuesday.
Her official diagnosis remains to be seen.
BroadwayWorld previously reported that Joni Mitchell had awoken after being found unconscious in her home Tuesday afternoon.
According to a statement on her website, the singer, 71, regained consciousness on the ambulance ride to the hospital. "She is currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits," the statement continued. "More updates to come as we hear them. Light a candle and sing a song, let's all send good wishes her way."
The eight-time Grammy winner has previously revealed that she suffers from Morgellons disease, a controversial illness that most believe is only the psychological delusion that one is infected with parasites.
"I'm a polio survivor, so I know how conservative the medical body can be," Mitchell told The Los Angeles Times in 2010. "In America, the Morgellons is always diagnosed as 'delusion of parasites,' and they send you to a psychiatrist. I'm actually trying to get out of the music business to battle for Morgellons sufferers to receive the credibility that's owed to them."
