Joni Mitchell, influential and beloved musician, is still recovering after having a brain aneurysm on March 31st. Mitchell, who will be 72 in November, is currently responsive but still has not regained her ability to speak, according to The Huffington Post.

The Canadian singer-songwriter is recovering at home after spending time in a rehab facility. Mitchell's friend Leslie Morris has been given legal authority to make medical decisions for her.

Another friend and former boyfriend David Crosby called Mitchell a "tough girl" but emphasized to The Huffington Post that she took a, "terrible hit. She had an aneurysm and nobody found her -- for a while...How it's going to go, we don't know yet. She's going to have to struggle back from it the way you struggle back from a traumatic brain injury."
