Barbra Streisand said it best "There are a number of good singers, a few great singers, then there is Johnny Mathis." Grammy-winning performer Johnny Mathis takes the Long Center June 13th for an extraordinary evening of jazz, pop, soul, rhythm and blues, and Broadway. Tickets are on sale now and start at $49.
Celebrating his 59th year in the music industry, Johnny Mathis is Columbia Records longest-running artist. A sublime vocalist whose approach to pop music eclipses passing fads and trends, Mathis has performed songs in an incredible variety of styles and categories -- from music composed for stage and film to golden era jazz standards, contemporary pop hits, and holiday music, all of which has assured his reputation as one of the most enduring vocalists in music history.
Best-known for his supremely popular hits like "Chances Are," "It's Not For Me To Say," and "Misty", Mathis has recorded more than 80 albums and has had 50 hits on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Chart. During his extensive career he has had 3 songs inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, and in 2003 Mathis was given the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
Returning to Austin, TX for the first time in many years on June 13th 2015, Mathis comes at the Long Center to perform some his greatest hits and personal favorites!
