John Moloney's debut album GRACE was recorded in Nashville and produced by A-list guitarist/singer/songwriter Thomm Jutz (Nanci Griffith, Mary Gauthier).
Described as "perfect music for St. Patrick's Day 2012," GRACE brings a collection of familiar hymns and Irish ballads "to new life, giving them a comforting bluegrass sound. The combination mirrors Moloney's own life and a journey that invites the listener to dream as bravely as he has and with as much hope.""Each song on this album has a special meaning in my life and I'm finding that there are many people with stories relating to these cherished songs. We all sang Let There Be Peace on Earth in the seventies and it has never been more appropriate than in 2012. It seems everyone has a story to tell about the song Danny Boy, (which a legendary Irish musician refers to as 'The Irish Our Father'). And, I remember well, the beautiful rendition of Eagle's Wings that was performed at my wife, Pauline's funeral. These are all songs from my heart," Moloney says.
GRACE is dedicated to the memory of Pauline Cooper Moloney.
John Moloney will be appearing locally at events in Pennsylvania during the St. Patrick's Day 2012 season. Moloney is also hosting a special tour of Ireland in October 2012.
All proceeds of the Our Father ringtone are being donated to support the technology fund at LaSalle Academy, Shillington, Pa, a local Catholic elementary school that Moloney's children have all attended.
