The power and praise of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church magnifies the glory of God in a mighty way. It is in their church DNA to present bold expressions of worship. H.B. Charles, Jr. has been the pastor of Shiloh for 10 years. The thriving church is a gem in northeast Florida, with music being central to its culture, because music is close to their pastor's heart. Gospel music fans everywhere will appreciate the gifts that flow from within Shiloh Baptist Church, as its label - Shiloh Worship - releases Psalms, Hymns & Spiritual Songs from H.B. Charles, Jr.
Produced by Joe Pace, Worship Pastor at Shiloh and Grammy nominated choirmaster, Psalms, Hymns & Spiritual Songs expresses the musical passion that flows from Pastor Charles every week, as well as the traditional sound of Gospel music that he grew up listening to. Charles has been pastoring since he was 17 years old, and had a love for worship music even before that. The album title is derived from Colossions 3:16: "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
Pastor Charles says: "Half of the project consists of songs I wrote, and we recorded several hymns that I learned as a boy. Of the eight original tunes, I only wrote one of them on purpose. The others arose from my devotional time as I meditated on verses of scripture. For this reason, the songs are very personal. They have also proven to be simple, sing-able songs my church has picked up quickly."
Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs features 15 rousing tracks. The first single, "I'll Fly Away", is a foot-stomping rendition of the church classic that will take listeners back to their Gospel music roots. The single is going for radio adds now. There is an endearing cover of the Bebe and Cece Winans hit "Love Said Not So", and "He Cares" is a refreshing and upbeat reminder of God's love for His people. The reverent hymns "There Is a Fountain" and the Matt Papa-penned "His Mercy is More" are offered with piercing sincerity, while "Stand" will be any quartet lover's favorite track.
Sherri Jones-Moffett lends her soaring vocals to "Brand New", which harmoniously declares and reminds believers "if any man be in Christ, He is a new creation." Pastor Charles says that this song came to him while he was driving his daughter to school, and stayed with him until he mentioned it to Pace and added that for "some reason" he could hear Sherri Jones Moffett singing the song. Pace pulled Moffett onto the project, and the connection was so strong that she is the newly appointed Director of Worship and Arts at Shiloh.
"This album has been steeping within Pastor Charles for a while," says Pace. "He has lived with many of these songs, and often sings them spontaneously during service. The album is a phenomenal testimony to who this man is as a pastor and preacher, as well as an artist. It represents the core of who Pastor Charles is as a man of God."
H.B. Charles Jr's Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs is distributed digitally through United Alliance Music Group (UAMG) and physically through New Day Distribution. The album is available wherever music is sold.

About Shiloh Church
Shiloh Baptist Church was founded in 1875. At that time the first Pastor was called, ordained and installed. Since that early date, the Lord has allowed His Church to remain a vital, soul-saving force in the LaVilla Community of Jacksonville, Florida many decades. During these 100+ years, Shiloh has been blessed with twelve Pastors, all men endowed with the Holy Spirit. In July 2008, Shiloh ended a seven month search and unanimously called H.B. Charles, Jr., a young man from Los Angeles, California, as their next Pastor. God has blessed Shiloh with an under shepherd who exhibits God's love from his heart and teaches the Word of God from the Bible. The church rejoice in the work that God has yet to reveal to them, as Pastor Charles writes the next chapter in Shiloh's history. Pastor Charles truly believes that "Our Dreams are Greater than our Memories."
