Joe Brooks, the self-taught UK singer/songwriter whose bedroom-recorded songs made him an online sensation, has recently completed a 6-song EP that debuted at #1 in Korea, the first market of release. That same set will be available on all digital retailers in the U.S. and physically through Joe's website, today.
With his pitch-perfect voice, uplifting lyrics and youthful spirit, the Southampton native
has won over legions of fans worldwide. Beginning in his late teens, Joe uploaded some
demos to a then-nascent MySpace and soon became the #1 unsigned artist in the UK for
nearly one year. His song "Superman" helped drive nearly 20 million overall plays and
the video version has received well over 5 million views on YouTube to date.

Joe went on to sell out multiple UK tours, without the help of a publisher or label, prior to signing a worldwide deal with Universal Records. The resulting album, Constellation Me, while critically well received, did not reach sales targets and Joe and Universal parted ways.
Turning to his fans for help, Joe utilized the fund-raising platform Pledgemusic.com and in one of their fastest campaigns ever, raised enough to record a new EP in only 8 days. Titled "A Reason To Swim," the set was quickly licensed to Sony in South Korea and after Joe toured the market the EP debuted at #1.
The charismatic Brooks, whom Seventeen/Cosmogirl called "The Next John Mayer,"
is quick to credit his loyal followers and also the technology of today for his success.
"I'm beyond grateful to my fans for allowing me to continue doing what I love to do and
for showing their support in a material way," says Brooks. "The direct interaction with
them has gotten me to this point and I expect we will continue to grow together. This EP
is definitely for them."
