Jessica Sanchez Announces New Christmas Song, Featuring Christian Bautista

Manila, Philippines--"American Idol" runner-up Jessica Sanchez, in collaboration with Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, releases her latest holiday-themed song titled "Another Silent Christmas Song," written by two-time Tony winner Steven Sater ("Spring Awakening," "Twelfth Night"-Musical Series) and multi-platinum record producer-songwriter Bryan Todd.

Sanchez's new single, distributed by Universal Records (Philippines), is expected to drop next Friday, November 2, 2018.

"Bryan and I wrote this song some years ago," Sater says in an interview. "I remember very well when I first heard this music--for the music came first. And at that time, it did not have a specific holiday theme. But I remember walking through Hancock Park in LA, listening to this song on my headphones. It was an LA-weather, sweater weather November. And as I walked, I couldn't help thinking back to the solitary walks I had taken through the lit streets of NYC at holiday time. And somehow, from there, the lyric, the loneliness, began tumbling from me."

"I've always loved writing with Bryan. His music evokes so many moods in me, and often with a melancholy strain, which touches something kind of fundamental in me," he adds.

Besides her pure star performances on the "American Idol" stage, Sanchez has also established herself as a holiday favorite, especially when she released "Christmas With Jessica," her first Christmas EP in 2015. It contained seasonal favorites such as "Santa Baby," "Jingle Bells," and "Joy To The World." On that same year, Sanchez first collaborated with Bautista on the duet "Two Forevers," which was included in the latter's album, "Kapit."

One of Sanchez's greatest performances was when she sang the inspirational song "The Prayer" at "American Idol" Season 15 finale, which earned rave reviews from Time Magazine, Elle Magazine, Billboard, and Latina Magazine, among others.

"I join Bryan in telling Christian and Jessica what great work they've done on it ['Another Silent Christmas Song' recording]. It's like we've been waiting all these years for their vocals to bring the song to life. It's beautiful," Sater says.

Todd also approves, "I echo all that Steven has said here and want to add that his lyrics are so special! I've never heard a Solomon yet endearing Christmas song quite like this, which makes it so special. Jessica and Christian did a fabulous job connecting with it and dialing in the emotion."

"Another Silent Christmas Song" will be available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon.
