Sea Gayle Records/Arista Nashville singer/songwriter Jerrod Niemann is poised to hit the airwaves with the stirring "Only God Could Love You More," the new single from his recently released Free the Music album.
Co-written by Niemann with Jon Stone and Lee Brice, "Only God Could Love You More" has been lauded by fans and reviewers alike as one of the standout tracks on Free the Music.
The song inspired MusicRow's Robert K. Oermann to hail "Only God Could Love You More" as "truly ground breaking and fresh sounding," declaring, "This man is so creative. As if the songwriting wasn't cool enough, the production is a brain-filling delight … essential listening."
Roughstock.com heralds Niemann's powerful, one-take performance as "a downright passionate and crazy good vocal," while Country Weekly cheers "Only God Could Love You More" as "incredibly compelling … enormous in sentiment, but simplistic in delivery, it earns five stars on its own."
About the new single, Niemann offers, "Everyone who has heard the album, this is always the song they bring up. We didn't put any harmonies on it and used my original tracking vocal. 'Lover, Lover' [Niemann's breakthrough #1 smash] had a bunch of harmony parts, so I thought it'd be a nice change to have zero here, especially with the French horns and the other orchestral things we have going on."
Co-produced by Niemann and Dave Brainard, Free the Music is the follow-up to Jerrod's chart-topping major-label debut album, Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury, which produced the #1 smash and RIAA-certified Platinum Digital Single, "Lover, Lover," and the Top 5 and RIAA-certified Gold Digital Single, "What Do You Want."
