Singer/songwriter Jeremy Loops and, according to Spotify, South Africa's most streamed male artist, will embark on his US tour this fall as direct support to Milky Chance. Loops has sustained that momentum with his recent album release Critical As Water, which was a top 5 charting release on iTunes South Africa, Australia, The Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland.
Building on his cult-like following in his hometown of Cape Town, South Africa, Loops reached his largest audience ever on European tour with Twenty One Pilots in 2015. In 2014, Loops' debut record, Trading Change which swiftly scaled the charts in his homeland.Trading Change also received a multitude of awards including MTV Africa's Best Alternative Album 2015, Album of the Year by iTunes SA, MK Awards Best Live Act , and South African Music Awards Best Newcomer - Nominee.
His sophomore record Critical As Water, released this past spring confirmed Loops' stature in South Africa, and expanded upon in throughout Europe, charting top 5 on iTunes in Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and France, and gaining more than 3M streams on Spotify within its first 3 weeks of release. The album was produced by Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, Lilly Allen, Bastille), with some/additional production by Jake Gosling (James Bay, Lady Gaga, Shawn Mendes) and has been accompanied by a worldwide tour including stops in Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Loops recently performed at major festivals including Lollapalooza Paris, Osheaga, and Firefly, SummerJam, to name a few. The upcoming US tour with Milky Chance will begin on the 25th of next month.
