On Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 8:00 p.m., the Skirball Cultural Center's eighteenth annual Sunset Concerts season concludes with Jeffery Broussard & The Creole Cowboys.
One of the most influential accordionists, fiddlers, and vocalists in zydeco today, Jeffery Broussard takes the stage with his band, The Creole Cowboys, to deliver irresistible, pack-the-dance-floor renditions of Creole classics and a unique brand of contemporary zydeco. Renowned as both a master of traditional sounds and an innovator, Broussard is known as one of the genre's most dynamic performers.
For this performance, the Skirball will clear away much of its usual courtyard seating in order to lay down a large dance floor. Seating will be very limited. The Skirball's free concert series, Sunset Concerts, features an eclectic mix of traditions and styles. The six Thursday evenings are presented in the Skirball's picturesque central courtyard, where music fans of all ages sing along, dance in the aisles, and gather at the foot of the stage. A popular choice for a group outing, family-friendly fun, or a romantic date night, Sunset Concerts also invite Angelenos and out-of-towners alike to dine al fresco, visit the Museum galleries, and explore the Skirball's distinctive architecture and hillside setting.Photo by Atsuko Taniguchi
