Jazz Search West 2014, the Bay Area's Jazz talent search for adults and teens 15 and up, will offer FOUR exciting competitions at Jazz venues in the East Bay during the month of March.
Contestants will perform at the venue of their choice in front of a panel of prestigious judges chosen from Bay Area Jazz professionals, and a supportive live audience. At the end of each competition, four lucky finalists will be selected to move on to the exciting Semi-Final at the beautiful Freight and Salvage and then on to the Grand Finale at Yoshi's Oakland, the East Bay's premiere jazz club.
Three top winners will be ultimately chosen and will win valuable prizes designed to enhance their musical careers. Jazz Search is an incredible opportunity to gain exposure and visibility, and to move to the next level.
Our panel of judges is made up of some of the Bay Area's most outstanding Jazz performers including The Dynamic Miss Faye Carol, Kellye Gray, and Glen Pearson. A professional rhythm section trio will be provided each night with well-known exceptional Bay Area Jazz musicians such as Marcus Shelby, Mark Lee, Walter Bankovitch, and Peter Barshay.
There is an entry fee for contestants of $40.
Each week's event is open FREE of charge to the public.
The Semi-Final - Freight and Salvage: $15 ; Grand Finale - Yoshi's Oakland- $20.

- FREE Tuition to Jazz Camp West '14, June 21-28, 2014
- FREE Professionally produced, engineered and recorded Demo CD
- 4-Hour recording session at Live Oak Studios in Berkeley
