Released via Top Dawg Entertainment/Interscope Records on June 15, Redemption is the third full-length from Jay Rock. The album has earned acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork (who named it "his strongest album yet, a collection of rap songs that highlight his struggle and journey") and HipHopDX (who noted that Jay Rock's "delivery and vocal performance are stellar throughout the project").

Born in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, Jay Rock made his major-label debut with the 2008 single "All My Life (In the Ghetto)" ft. Lil Wayne & will.i.am. His first album Follow Me Home arrived in 2011, and featured appearances by Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Rick Ross, and Ab-Soul. Released in September 2015, Jay Rock's sophomore full-length 90059 debuted at #16 on the Billboard 200, with HipHopDX praising the album as "up there with the best of the year."
