Third Culture: Music of the New World from Jane Rutter and John Huie is on sale nationally Friday July 7, 2017 distributed by MGM Distribution. The album is a departure for Rutter, after 11 top-selling solo albums with ABC Classics. Third Culture features Original Australian Chamber Music fused with traditional pieces from different cultures, created and performed by ex POSH members: flautist Jane Rutter and jazz guitarist John Huie who have reunited after 30 years.

Echoing The Silk Road Project (Yo-Yo Ma), Third Culture is an Australian cultural gift to the world, a union of diverse styles: original Australian music. Traditional Chinese 'Red Grass' pieces, Indian influenced music and three thrilling tributes to French-Algerian Singer Warda, (The Algerian Rose). Lively and mystical, the music appeals to listeners young and old.

'Third Culture' is a new term referring to multi-cultural children who spent a significant part of their formative years outside their parents' culture. Belonging to many places, they merge their birth culture with their adopted culture, creating their own: the Third Culture.

The album's music represents a similar union of diverse styles, marrying Classical & Non-classical (Chinese, Arabic, Indian) music from around the world, with best-loved melodies from different cultures and the brilliant chamber-fusion of John Huie's & Jane Rutter's original music and arrangements.

Jane Rutter (Flutes & composition), John Huie (Guitars, San Xian, Percussion & composition) and Hugh Fraser (Bass) were the founding members of the Chamber group POSH. Straight out of the Sydney Conservatorium High School, they were dubbed by the Sydney Morning Herald as 'The Guerillas of Chamber Music', Ground breaking at the time, POSH toured extensively for Musica Viva and performed regularly at the Sydney Opera House. Third Culture features original players from POSH with a direct connection to its musical roots.

'Fans often ask me about POSH, the group I formed with John Huie, before my solo career. Third Culture echoes our early group's musical roots, and revisits our past with a joyful, relevant contemporary recording.' - Jane Rutter
