Diamonds, the highly anticipated debut LP from husband and wife team JOHNNYSWIM, will be released today, April 29 on Big Picnic Records. The record has received early critical acclaim-the duo recently performed their single "Home" on "The Late Show with David Letterman" (watch here:http://youtu.be/72BiiNXhjRY) and the track also premiered at Billboard (http://bit.ly/O5kzsz). Diamonds is available for pre-order now:http://bit.ly/1mt3QM7.
To further support the release, JOHNNYSWIM will embark on a nationwide tour, including a support slot with Feist and appearances at Jazz Fest, Firefly Festival and Lollapalooza this summer. See below for full routing details. Diamonds was produced by JOHNNYSWIM's Abner Ramirez and recorded in Nashville, where the couple originally met and began writing together. Of the new music Abner notes, "It's been a wild ride writing and recording this album. It's a slice of our lives from the last couple years-the love and the loss, the highs and the lows. If there's any one thing we made our aim in this album, its honesty." Check out the teaser trailer here:http://youtu.be/oWyEsLj0K2g. The album will be available for pre-order April 1. The new record follows the duo's 2013 Heart Beats EP that received widespread critical acclaim-Huffington Post praised the duo's "lyrical sincerity with unadorned arrangements and vocal sophistication" while Paste Magazine called the pair "one-of-a-kind." In addition, VH1 became very early supporters upon first hearing the music and were quick to select JOHNNYSWIM as their first-ever "You Oughta Know +" artist, hailing the twosome as "...tantalizing." The duo received long-term video support for their song "Heart Beats" and participated in VH1's Creative Music Integration initiative, where their music is placed into a selection of VH1 programs. JOHNNYSWIM also performed as part of "VH1's You Oughta Know In Concert," "The O Music Awards" and the "Do Something Awards." Amanda Sudano-Ramirez and Abner make up JOHNNYSWIM. Amanda was exposed to music at a young age with musicians as parents, while Abner studied music at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in his native Jacksonville, Florida. The two met in 2006 and started collaborating musically after discovering their similar influences of folk, soul and rock. Since then, they've relocated to Los Angeles, released two critically lauded EPs and performed on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Today Show." The duo has toured extensively including stops at SXSW, Spoleto Festival, Bonnaroo and a support slot for Emeli Sandé JOHNNYSWIM TOUR DATES April 10 Norwalk, CT Infinity Music Hall April 11 Portsmouth, NH The Music Hall* April 12 Burlington, VT Higher Ground April 13 North Hampton, MA The Iron Horse Music Hall April 22 New York, NY Rockwood Music Hall April 23 Alexandria, VA The Birchmere April 24 Chicago, IL Global Citizen Nights - The Vic April 25 Ardmore, PA Ardmore Music Hall April 30 Jackson, MS Duling Hall May 2 New Orleans, LA Jazz Festival May 7 Asheville, NC The Grey Eagle May 8 Atlanta, GA Smith's Olde Bar May 9 Charlotte, NC The Neighborhood Theater May 10 Saxapahaw, NC Haw River Ballroom June 4 San Francisco, CA The Chapel June 5 Los Angeles, CA The Troubadour June 16 Cleveland, OH Beachland Tavern June 19 Annapolis, MD Rams Head June 21 Dover, DE Firefly Festival July 19 Louisville, KY Forecastle Festival July 25 Chattanooga, TN Nightfall Concert Series August 1-3 Chicago, IL Lollapalooza *supporting Feist http://johnnyswim.com/
