Debra Ehrhardt's solo show Jamaica, Farewell, based on a mostly true story about her journey to the USA from Jamaica in the turbulent 1970s of the Manley Era, is a hilarious and touching story of how one woman risked everything in order to fulfill her lifelong dream of starting over in America. Debra's tour de force performance is a wild roller coaster ride of suspense, intrigue, seduction, humor and manipulation.  "A terrific story with wit and panache, suspenseful enough for a thriller and deliciously funny.' - LA WEEKLY

Rita Wilson recently produced Jamaica Farewell at the Falcon Theatre in Los Angeles and has optioned it for a film!  After successful runs in the USA, Canada, England, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Bermuda; Debra brings back her thrilling tale to the Academy, where her east coast American triumph began!

A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Debra Ehrhardt, knew at the tender age of seven that her dream was to come to America. By 18, her dream was realized. She is currently touring with Jamaica, Farewell.  Previous productions include Mango, Mango which received two NAACP Awards and Invisible Chairs, which was produced in Hollywood and later optioned as a situation comedy by Fox.  She was also a 2007 NYC Fringe festival award-winner and received a 2007 Proclamation from the City of New York for Jamaica, Farewell for her "Outstanding Contribution to the Jamaican Community." "Powerful…with wit and a melodic Jamaican lilt, Ehrhardt proves to be an entertaining and charming raconteur." – THE NEW YORKER
