J. Roddy Walston & The Business is excited to release their new video for lead single "The Wanting" today. Shot by Christopher Good in the band's hometown of Richmond, VA, the video showcases the four-piece's high octane live presence. Filled with urgent, quick cuts as the band performs the energetic rock track against a stark white background watch it HERE.

Currently #21 at alternative radio and climbing, "The Wanting" is from the band's fourth studio album Destroyers of the Soft Life which was released this past fall via ATO Records. Co-produced by the band and Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Built To Spill, Father John Misty), the album is available HERE.
"We had never been a band where we pretended that it's 1965," lead singer and songwriter Rod Walston said. "Loud rock and roll music has become less relevant because it's just been on a loop," he says. "If there was any rule on this record, it was, let's be a part of music right now. I want to be part of living music in this moment."
Destroyers of the Soft Life began two years ago when Walston (lead singer / guitar / piano), Billy Gordon (guitar), Logan Davis (bass) and Steve Colmus (drums) purchased space in a Richmond, Virginia WWII era bomb shelter turned lumber yard. The foursome gutted and subsequently spent seven months transforming it into their own recording studio. As they put down roots Walston also became a father for the first time, inspiring lyrics that take an unflinching look at family dynamics and parental motivations.
JRWATB have also been road warriors and an underground favorite from the time they formed in 2002 and they have now announced 'Destroyers of the Soft Live: Volume 1', their first tour dates of 2018, which include sets at DC's 9:30 Club, New York's Brooklyn Steel and more.
Thanksgiving weekend the band will be headlining a three-night hometown stint at Richmond, VA's The Broadberry and next Friday, November 24 lead singer Rod Walston and bassist Logan Davis will be making a 12:30 - 3:30 PM appearance at Plan 9 Records to show support for their local record store on Record Store Day Black Friday.
