Lady Gaga's newly released single 'Applause' quickly garnered over 1.5 million views on Youtube, but today, questions are being raised as to whether or not the first single from her ARTPOP (due on November 11) is a flop.

Showbiz411 has noted that the single has dropped to #4 on iTunes, and #8 on Amazon, with only 225,000 downloads for the first week on iTunes. (Behind Katy Perry).

She's been promoting the track heavily to her 40 million twitter followers, including asking fans to buy multiple copies to help with sales, noting "Screenshot your 'Applause' purchase @ladygaga request to radio, & hashtag #Applause well choose 2 devoted fans to go WITH me to ITunes fest!" and "The 2 fans w the most purchase/gift screenshots, radio requests, 'Applause' selfies/video, will fly international to meet me+watch the show!"

Lady Gaga was forced to release the single ahead of it's August 19 release date due to an online leak. Gaga cautioned her tweeter followers asking them not to download the low quality leaked version of her song.

Where will the album ultimately land this fall? Time will tell...
