Dark folk duo Sybling share a haunting new music video for "The Grim," the first single off its upcoming EP. Its eerie new video opens on a lone skateboarder being followed at every turn by a cast of masked strangers through the busy New York streets. The dark imagery shown in "The Grim" represent the anxieties and fears that we carry with us every day, lurking in the periphery of our subconscious until they spill out into our day-to-day lives. Comprised of sisters Alice and Mariana Makwaia, the duo collaborated on the music video's story and production with Art Girl Army, an arts collective dedicated to helping connect women across a variety of creative industries.

Born-and-raised in New York City, Mariana and Alice have been experimenting with songwriting since childhood, though, both offer two different-yet-complimentary talents as musicians. Creatively, Alice came into her own as an artist honing her abilities as a composer while Mari wrote and fronted several projects of her own, including Smoke & Sugar. Sybling represents the first time the two have come together as collaborators despite spending years casually hitting up open mics or acting as sounding boards for each other. Sybling's first release was originally written as two different pieces that were then blended together, channeling the folk-inspired harmonies of First Aid Kit and the ethereal atmosphere of The Staves.
