Indie artist Shane is laying his SAD EP to rest and preparing to unleash a batch of new songs. The East Coast leg of the "Funeral" tour will feature the 22-year-old artist performing songs from SAD and debuting new material. The headline run kicks off May 16 at DC9 in Washington, DC and includes a May 18 show at New York City's Mercury Lounge. Shane will be sticking around to meet fans after the shows. It took two hours to accommodate all the fans waiting after his recent show at The Bootleg in Los Angeles. Tickets for the "Funeral" tour are available now at http://iamnotshane.com/tour.html. See below for itinerary.
Based in Los Angeles, Shane writes and co-produces all of his music. Cumulative streams of songs from the SAD EP now exceed six million on Spotify. Taking a satirical approach, he also directed, produced and edited videos for several tracks, including lead single "Insecure," "Dance" (starring animation dancer/YouTube personality Dytto) and "Play Good Music At My Funeral."
Views of "Insecure" across Shane's social media channels now surpass 11 million. Perez Hilton said, "If you like Troye Sivan, then you will really dig this...His breakthrough single, Insecure, is the perfect blend of sweet with edge and the video is guaranteed to put a smile on your face." The video has inspired fans around the globe to post their own versions of the clip on YouTube and Instagram.
The darkly comedic video for "Play Good Music At My Funeral" suggests we would do well to show our appreciation of others while they are still alive. View HERE.
Shane explains, "I like taking an unusual message and presenting it in a popular way."
