Houston's own Trae Tha Truth took matters into his own hands this past week, joining the Houston Fire Departments rescue team for Hurricane Harvey victims. The legendary Grand Hustle hip hop artist has always been known for his major philanthropic efforts in the Houston community, even being named to receive the keys to the city of Houston by Mayor Sylvester Turner. Unfortunately that ceremony would turn into Trae showcasing why he deserves such an honor; spending his celebration day in boats riding across the city of Houston helping families to safety, including Orlando Magic's own Jonathon Simmons. "Trae tha Truth, the rapper, is from Houston and we know a mutual friend from San Antonio. They brought a boat to Houston because Trae had to evacuate as well," Simmons said. "They came and got Trae and then he came and got us right away. Luckily, I had a friend in the area who could help us out." Trae has been restless this past week making sure he does all he can to help rescue the people of Houston, as well as enlist his celebrity/athlete friends to donate funds and supplies to organizations and shelters throughout the community.
