The Rewind Show is a vision we have had for as long as we have been in the business of night clubs and event planning. We are tired of the same concept that every night-club in NYC has been stuck with over the years and think that it's time to change the way to party! As we all know nothing can compare to a live performance and therefore we have created the Rewind Show! We want to bring an experience like no other by combining the live music of the 80's Rock & Roll era along with the best DJ's spinning the present hits. Every Saturday night, the Highline Ballroom will operate as a high-end night club to let people experience the Rewind Show.

Chick Corea's newest trio features the 16-time Grammy-winning pianist in the company of a stellar rhythm tandem: bassist Christian McBride (Sting, Pat Metheny, McCoy Tyner), one of the most outstanding talents and celebrated musicians of his generation, and drummer extraordinaire Brian Blade (Herbie Hancock, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell) a longstanding member of the Wayne Shorter Quartet. The three initially forged an indelible chemistry as the rhythmic backbone of the Five Peace Band in 2009, when Blade took the drum chair for the band's Asian and American tours. Their instant, easy rapport naturally stimulated the idea of yet another outlet for Corea's tireless creativity. And a new trio was born. As a trio, they'll take up the musical dialogue that started there-dynamic, deeply interactive and irrepressibly swinging.

Friday, October 8
Dana Fuchs
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$22 adv, $25 at door
After 2 years of working the blues circuit Dana knew it was time for a change and decided to tell her own story and create her own music. She and Jon began writing intensively, putting together a solid body of original rock songs. Soon Dana was back on the Lower East Side again, only this time on stage with the band, debuting her songs to a packed house at Arlene's Grocery. The fan response was overwhelming. The band was soon selling out shows at The Mercury Lounge, The Stephen Talkhouse and BB King's, sharing the bill with national acts, Little Feat, Marianne Faithfull, and Etta James. Not long after the producers of the off-Broadway hit "Love, Janis," hearing raves about Dana from various cast and crew members, asked her to come in for an audition. Dana went in, sang a few bars of "Piece of My Heart," and, on the spot, was offered the role of Janis Joplin. Playing Janis 4 nights a week garnered Dana a whole new audience who were soon at the DFB's shows listening to Dana performing her own music. These songs can be heard on the band's debut CD, Lonely For A Lifetime, which was released to an enthusiastic response from both press and fans. Drawing from influences ranging from '60s Stax/Volt R&B, Lucinda Williams and The Rolling Stones, Lonely for A Lifetime, hints, lyrically, at Tom Waits and Bob Dylan, among others. Says Fuchs, "I wanted to capture a soulful and rocking vibe...but with an earthiness to it." Vocally Dana was inspired by legendary singers including Etta James, Otis Redding, Bobby Bland, Aretha Franklin, and Mavis Staples.

Reverend Billy and the Life After Shopping Gospel Choir have been waging holy clown-war against Consumer Devils for over ten years. They are the pied pipers of a new culture and economy that will follow the era of consumption. Dancing on Starbucks counter-tops has won them jail-time as well as the Alpert Award for Theater, the Dramalogue Award, and the OBIE Award for "Reviving Activism." Kicked out of more than a hundred super malls from Helsinki to Kauai to Buenos Aires, the Stop Shoppers hit their notes and preach to the folks.... "Life After Shopping" written by the company's director Savitri D as well as the Rev, and edited by Alisa Solomon, will be published in early 2011 on University of Michigan Press.

Sunday, October 10
1000 Knives & Brooklyn Vegan Presents:
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY "ANIMOSITY" LINEUP REUNION
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$20 adv, $25 at door
One of the first punk/metal fusion bands, Corrosion of Conformity (C.O.C. for short) were formed in North Carolina by guitarist Woody Weatherman during the early '80s. In their early years, C.O.C. became known for their aggressive sound, intelligent political lyrics, and willingness to break away from both hardcore and metal conventions. In the '90s, their shift to a more stripped-down, deliberate sound -- sort of Black Sabbath filtered through the Deep South -- brought them enough in line with the alternative metal zeitgeist to bring them a measure of mainstream popularity. C.O.C. debuted in 1983 with the thrashy, Black Flag-influenced Eye for an Eye, featuring a lineup of Weatherman, drummer Reed Mullin, vocalist Eric Eycke, and bassist Mike Dean. They began to build up a cult following with 1985's Animosity, which featured additional guitarist Pepper Keenan and new vocalist Simon Bob. However, their label at the time, Death, grew tired of the band's internal instability and dropped them following 1987's Technocracy. It took several years for a new lineup to come together -- featuring Weatherman, Keenan, Mullin, vocalist Karl Agell, and bassist Phil Swisher -- but when it did, the result was 1991's Blind, a powerful, focused, more metallic record which increased their audience by leaps and bounds. Agell was fired following its success, and he and Swisher went on to form Leadfoot; meanwhile, Keenan became the full-time lead vocalist on 1994's even more Sabbath-esque Deliverance, which also featured the return of original bassist Mike Dean. During 1995, Keenan took a short detour into the Southern metal supergroup Down (which also featured Pantera's Phil Anselmo and members of Crowbar). Thanks to a shift in popular taste in favor of the ultra-heavy brand of alternative metal the group had helped pioneer, C.O.C. found themselves with a larger audience than ever before when they released 1996's Wiseblood, which continued and expanded their rock radio success. After a lengthy break from recording and a world tour with Metallica, C.O.C. returned with a new album in the fall of 2000, titled America's Volume Dealer. Another break ensued, resulting in the release of the live recording Live Volume in 2001. It wasn't until April of 2005 that the band regrouped for the hard-hitting and complex In the Arms of God.

Hit Week Presents: ELISA
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$20 adv, $25 at door
Multi platinum Italian singer Elisa was only 16 when her raw talent was discovered by music producer Caterina Caselli, who encouraged her to move to the United States to become fluent in English, the language of her songs. About four years later, her debut album "Pipes & Flowers" was released under Caselli's label, Sugar Music, and produced by Corrado Rustici. It took only a few months to earn many awards in Italy that also included the prestigious "Premio Tenco" award (Best Record of the Year awarded by the critics) and the PIM award, the Italian Music Award. Soonafter, it was released in several European countries and Elisa toured throughout Europe as the opening act for international pop star Eros Ramazzotti. Many people wondered why Elisa, an Italian singer, wrote her songs mainly in English. The answer was to find in the attempt to protect her inner world, a world that she herself needed to understand and consolidate fully. Ironically, since English is also one of the most spoken languages in the world, the passing of years has turned this strange attempt to hide and to protect into an opportunity, one that made her music reach more people beyond Italian borders. On April 21, 2009 Elisa joined 55 other Italian artists in Milan to record a single recording titled "Domani" dedicated to those suffering personal losses from the tragic earthquake that struck Central Italy earlier that month. This recording followed a fundraising concert in June at the San Siro Soccer Stadium in Milan. Elisa's new album "Heart" was released in November 2009 and immediately topped the Italian album charts. It is Elisa's sixth studio album and includes 14 songs produced by Elisa along with Andrea Rigonat. One of the tracks is an emotional duet with English born singer-songwriter Antony Hegarty known best as the lead singer of the band "Antony and The Johnsons". It is currently going triple platinum.

PEPPER
Tuesday with Brother Ali, Pour Habit
Wednesday with Pour Habit
Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 7:45pm
$25
PEPPER formed in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1997. Having grown up surfing on the island, it's not a wonder that they would mix their rock "shock and ah" flare, along with their mellow island rhythm roots to create their own truly diverse sound. PEPPER has sold over half a million records independently and founded their own record label, LAW Records - through which three other artists' music is distributed: IRATION, Passafire, and The Supervillians. The band has also amassed a large and loyal following stemming from their nonstop touring which includes numerous rounds on the Vans Warped Tour and outings with reggae legends The Wailers, 311 and Snoop Dogg, to name a few. PEPPER has performed at several festivals including Lollapolooza, Mile High Festival, West Beach Music Festival, as well as many others. In 2008, PEPPER made the rounds through Europe twice alongside Flogging Molly in the spring and Less Than Jake in the fall. They spent their summer of that year celebrating the July release of PINK CRUSTACEANS AND GOOD VIBRATIONS, which peaked at 11 on Billboard's "Independent Albums" chart, by hitting up US amphitheaters with longtime friends Slightly Stoopid, and headlined the very first "Here Comes the LAW Tour" - which featured other Law Records artists, The Supervillains and Passafire. The madness continued through the spring of 2009 when PEPPER ventured out for the second time co-headlining the Jagermeister Music Tour with punk rock legends, Pennywise. In the fall PEPPER took the party to the streets of Los Angeles playing the second annual Sunset Strip Music Festival with rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. After spending the early months of 2010 writing and recording new music, PEPPER spent their summer on the annual Unity Tour with long time friends 311, and The Offspring. They played twenty-five big dates including several amphitheaters and arenas. Between Unity Tour, new music, a single, "Wake Up" accompanied by a B side, "Mirror," which were released this past July, and plans for a 45+ major market national headlining tour this fall in support of the forthcoming release of their Sitches EP due out Oct 12, 2010, PEPPER fans are sure to get the PEPPER fix they've been craving since 2009!

SEABEAR
with North Highlands
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$15
Defying its humble beginnings as the lo-fi solo project of Icelandic singer/multi-instrumentalist Sindri Már Sigfússon, Seabear has morphed into a rambling experimental/indie/folk septet. There is something instantly familiar about Seabear's songs that resonates with fans and critics alike. Despite scant promotion and airplay behind their debut album release, 2007's The Ghost That Carried Us Away, their songs and animated videos were a social media hit generating millions of plays. It's a very Icelandic DIY setup - their music is recorded by the band in their basement studio with its apple carton covered walls. All artwork and videos are hand made by Sindri's partner and band mate Ingibjörg Birgisdóttir. We Built A Fire will be released alongside the 6-song While The Fire Dies EP in March 2010 on Morr Music. A limited edition 7'‘+T-Shirt-package will be available this Christmas. The band will hit the road in Spring 2010 playing the Eurosonic, By:Larm and SxSW Festivals followed by tours all over Europe, the US and Canada.

PASTE MAGAZINE PRESENTS: JASON ISBELL AND THE 400 UNIT
with Langhorne Slim, Jesse Sykes and Phil Wandscher & Mimicking Birds
Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$18 adv, $15 at show
For a comparatively brief moment in the mid-1960s, Muscle Shoals, Alabama was the unlikely epicenter of a major American songwriting renaissance. Here are some of the names: Arthur Alexander, Donnie Fritts, Eddie Hinton, Dan Penn, Spooner Oldham, O.C. Smith, Joe South, Tony Joe White. Toss Bobbie Gentry into that mix, on style if not geography, and the list is not complete, regardless. Style matters, for in those turbulent times these writers and their collaborators fused the vocal passion of African-American soul and gospel to an Anglo-Saxon storytelling tradition which goes back at least to Beowulf: Tough, hard, passionate, unflinching songs, unrepentant in their sense of place and direct in their stubborn Southernness. That is a powerful pile of names to spade across the work of Jason Isbell, as his second solo album, named for his band, is, well, only his second solo album. And he's almost 30. It's not simply that he lives in Florence, Alabama, just outside Muscle Shoals, nor that he recorded Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit at the famed FAME studio there. That guarantees nothing. The songs will stand on their own.

HEY MONDAY, CARTEL, THE READY SET, THIS CENTURY, WE ARE THE IN CROWD
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 6:30pm
$15 adv, $17 at door
Barely out of high school, Cassadee's new beginning is a dream come true. Discovered at a regional music conference where the teenage siren would sing for anyone willing to listen, she attracted the attention of record label scouts at a time when most of her friends weren't even old enough to drive. Less than two years later she's preparing for the release of her band's first album, Hold On Tight, a joint venture between Columbia Records and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz's Decaydance Records. Produced by S*A*M and Sluggo [The Academy Is, Gym Class Heroes, Metro Station], the album is a free-spirited spin through life's post-adolescent twists, turns, trials and triumphs. "We have a variety of styles, but they're all pretty-much fast and upbeat, because we wanted a fast, upbeat and happy kind of record that makes you tap your feet and puts you in a good mood," explains Cassadee. "There are heartbroken songs, being in love songs, a song about someone who parties too much... If it's not all about me, then it's about someone very close to me who I can feel for. I just wanted to tell a story, to make it like a movie where you can really get to know someone. I wanted people to really get to know me through the lyrics."

Thursday, October 28
K-OS
with Shad, Astronautalis
Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$15 adv, $18 at door
K-os, born Kevin Brereton, is a genuine neo-crossover rap n' roller who's music, much like your Ipod, might speak to hipster club kidz, pop chart gazers, Canadian indie rockers, dirty south electronic rap renegades, or reggae rude boys simultaneously. As it should - his rhyme and crooning skills took root in arguably the most polyglot and multi-cultural city on the planet, Toronto. And he's quite vocal about his not belonging to any one genre - he belongs to them all. Says K-os: "I'm a historical opportunist who's grown up on everything from Dylan to Marley to KRS-One... I've never seen myself as just a hip hop artist". On Yes!, his 12 song deep fourth album, released in Canada on Nettwerk/Universal, the now Vancouver-based upstart has consolidated everything he's done before, and chimed in where his head's at now, like a more musically seasoned audio auteur would, despite his past successes. "As cliche as it may sound, this record really does take the best elements of my past work" he explains. "Strangely, three albums later, it feels like I'm starting new again, with a new label, manager, and agent. This album is a return to me picking up drum machines, guitars, keyboard and going for broke!"
