The Rewind Show
with live performances and celebrity DJs
21 or over to enter
Doors at 10:30pm, Show at 11:00pm
$20 at door
RSVP to info@4kent.com
The Rewind Show is a vision we have had for as long as we have been in the business of night clubs and event planning. We are tired of the same concept that every night-club in NYC has been stuck with over the years and think that it's time to change the way to party! As we all know nothing can compare to a live performance and therefore we have created the Rewind Show! We want to bring an experience like no other by combining the live music of the 80's Rock & Roll era along with the best DJ's spinning the present hits. Every Saturday night, the Highline Ballroom will operate as a high-end night club to let people experience the Rewind Show. (http://therewindshow.com/)

RECOIL ft.
Alan Wilder of Depeche Mode
with Architect, Conjure One (Rhys Fulber from Frontline Assembly)
Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 9:00pm
$15 adv, $20 at door
Recoil is the project of
Alan Wilder, formerly of Depeche Mode. Alan is a classically-trained musician and renowned contemporary music producer. Recoil was born in 1986 as a two-track experimental EP. An album, 'Hydrology', soon followed in 1988 and both were eventually re-issued by Mute Records on CD as 'Hydrology plus 1+2'. These early Recoil recordings revealed Wilder's position as a pioneer in the newly emerging world of sampling technology. In 2000, Recoil gave us 'Liquid' which this time utilised the unique qualities of internationally acclaimed singer Diamanda Galás, 1940's Gospel crooners The Golden Gate Jubilee Quartet, and New York spoken-word performers Nicole Blackman & Samantha Coerbell. The worldwide music press received the 'Liquid' album with a host of glowing reviews and Wilder was awarded the Charles Cros Grand Prix 2000. Recoil returned in 2007 with its 5th full studio album. Entitled 'subHuman', it was released in Europe and in the US. Collaborating that time was Blues-man
Joe Richardson - born in Southern Louisiana, Richardson offered a unique commentary on conflict, religion, incarceration and personal struggle. English singer Carla Trevaskis, a songwriter in her own right, brought an expressive range and control having worked with many diverse artists. Now, in conjunction with his recently released ‘Selected' album and for the first time since Alan's Mode departure, following a series of hugely successful European dates, Recoil is venturing out on the road again to continue the 'Selected Events' tour 2010 - entitled 'A Strange Hour' with
Alan Wilder & Paul Kendall.

THE SUMMER SET
with Stereo Skyline, Mod Sun, The Downtown Fiction, Austin Gibbs
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 6:30pm
$13 adv, $15 at door
Co-founded by brothers John and Stephen Gomez, the Summer Set took shape in 2007 in Scottsdale, AZ. The Gomez siblings rounded out their lineup with guitarist
John Montgomery, drummer Jess Bowen, and vocalist Brian Dales, and the teenagers chose their band's name after opening an atlas and happening upon the town of Somerset, NJ. Despite the East Coast reference, Arizona proved to be the Summer Set's muse, and the group took inspiration from such local acts as Jimmy Eat World and the Format while composing its own emo-pop songs. After gathering a modest audience on MySpace, the Summer Set began playing local shows and issuing several EPs while still in high school, eventually signing with Razor & Tie shortly after graduation. Released in 2009, Love Like This marked the group's official debut. ~All Music Guide

THE ALTERNATE ROUTES
with The Kin
**This event has been moved to Canal Room at 285 West Broadway. All tickets will be honored**
Doors at 6:30pm, Show at 7:30pm
$12 adv, $15 at door
Whatever fate has in store for this promising young band, it's sure to make for a good story...and an even better song. The Alternate Routes have never been afraid to roll the dice during their brief and turbulent journey, always relying upon their heartfelt brand of music to pull them through the ups and downs that come with the territory. It's a trait evident in their powerful Vanguard Records debut, Good and Reckless and True, a memorable, incredibly confident opening statement from a band that takes nothing for granted. Warren recalls the initial meeting with his future songwriting partner/lead-guitarist, Eric Donnelly, between classes at Connecticut's Fairfield University. "Eric and I appreciated the same things about music," Warren says. "When we started out, we didn't really fit in anywhere. We played everywhere we could, at bars, clubs, coffee shops ...but we always believed in what we were doing. We believed our music was important and we've never lost that feeling." The duo's path crossed with that of bassist Chip Johnson during a brief residency in the Boston area. He was a skinny, mild-mannered presence-a kid who could pick up any instrument and make it his own. "I always say that Tim and I had the songs, but we didn't have a band until we met Chip," says Donnelly. The months following Johnson's arrival were important ones, the trio hung onto their music, their ideals, refining their sound and never lost focus. They turned each humbling moment into a lesson, each gig into a learning experience and established the all-or-nothing attitude that has come to define them.

YELLE
Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 9:00pm
$25
A French pop singer, Yelle released her first album, Pop-Up, in 2007. A bright, colorful, and sassy artist, Yelle (and producer GrandMarnier) first came to prominence after a song entitled "Short Dick Cuizi" was posted on her MySpace page. The track, a jab at TTC hip-hop crew member Cuizinier, was later altered (lyrically at least) and became Yelle's first official single in 2006, "Je Veux Te Voir."

RUBBLEBUCKET
with The Pimps of Joytime
Doors at 8:00pm, Show at 9:00pm
$10 adv, $15 at door
Someone once said that if Brooklyn and New Orleans had a love child it would be conceived while listening to Rubblebucket: a wild young eight-some from Brooklyn, Boston and Burlington, Vermont (i.e. Ver-brook-ston). Drawing influence from the likes of Talking Heads,
James Brown and Bjork, their banging horns and bombastic dance beats provide a landscape for the warm vocals of lead lady Kalmia. In the 2 years since their mythical seminal gig their all-original music has come to define a new genre: rock-ro-beat. Rubblebucket won the 2009 Boston Music Award for Live Act of the Year and was featured in the December 2009 issue of Relix Magazine's "On The Verge: 5 Artists You Should Know." Additionally they were chosen by SPIN Magazine as a "Must-hear artist from the 2009 CMJs." 2010 promises to be an exciting year, with a new single to be released in April, Ozomatli support tour this spring, new album & music videos in the works, and festivals including Camp Bisco 9 and High Sierra this summer!

Zane Lamprey's Sing The Booze Tour 2010
ZANE LAMPREY
with Steve McKenna & the JusTones
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 7:00pm
$25 adv, $30 at door
Comedian Zane Lamprey is constantly being told he has the best job in the world. As host of the cult sensation "Three Sheets," Zane's job is to travel around the world and drink. After four seasons, Zane has thrown back a few (and sometimes a few too many) in over 50 countries, including: Tanzania, New Zealand, Iceland, Tahiti, Greece, London, and Lithuania. As he drinks with the locals, viewers learn about the culture, people and spirits of the region. Zane can also be seen on the imbibing travelogue, "Drinking Made Easy", which premieres on HDNet on October 6, 2010. The 24 episodes, which follow his national 53-city live comedy tour (also called Drinking Made Easy), highlight the drinking cultures and customs of U.S. cities. On the heels of the success of his summer comedy tour, Zane is about to embark on another tour, Sing the Booze, to debut his new album of drinking songs, while hitting 30 cities across the US in the fall of 2010. Previously, Zane hosted "Have Fork, Will Travel" on the Food Network, where he traveled around the world and ate. Proving that the magic wasn't just in the bottle, he was just as successful at getting people to open up over fish stew as he was with a Sake bomb. From sitting down with a top French chef in Marseille to cutting down banana trees in Puerto Rico, Zane find the fun and funny in any situation.
