Dwight Morrow High School, Hackensack High School, and Teaneck High School will unite for "Bergen Blowout" today, October 18. "Bergen Blowout" features the three high schools' marching bands performing in one venue, combining forces to showcase their talent and musicality.
The Bergen Marching Band Blowout is hosted by Bergen Performing Arts Center Performing Arts School today, October 18th at 8PM. All tickets are $10.00.
Each band will perform in three categories: Color Guard, Drum Line, and Full Ensemble. At the end of the show, all three marching bands will combine and play together in a grand finale.
Gary Hollander, Program Manager of Fine & Performing Arts at Dwight Morrow High School and instrumental music teacher (McCloud Elementary School, Janis E. Dismus Middle School and DMHS), conceived the event and is coordinating with the band directors of the other two schools.
“I thought this would be a great evening. Once my colleagues gave the go-ahead, I partnered up with bergenPAC's Director of Education Alexander Diaz,” says Dr. Hollander. “The proceeds from this event will benefit the music programs at Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, Hackensack High School and Teaneck High School.”
Tickets are $10 and are being sold by students in the marching band. Englewood residents can email or Dr. Hollander at ghollander@epsd.org or call him at 201-862-6000 x6724.
Tickets are also available online on the bergenPAC web site, www.bergenpac.org/events/detail/bergen-blowout. bergenPAC is located at 30 North Van Brunt Street in Engelwood.
