At only 23, Harlem's R&B Emcee Deon Young has written and recorded countless songs, released critically acclaimed mix tapes, and today, he delivered his take on classic 90's hip-hop to anticipating fans with the release of "Retro King" on DatPiff. Through his soulful lyrics, Young introduces us to his storyteller style and shares his creativity on this classic musical rebirth, one note at a time. Featuring remixes on "Passin' Me By", "1st Of The Month", "Party And Bulls%$t" and more, Deon successfully merges time-honored and inaugural sounds into 28 minutes of ear-blessing bliss.

"I have a deep appreciation for old school music. I never wanted to be mistaken for the troubled kids on the corner 'cause unlike them, I had a plan. Being brought up in Harlem gave me the gift to rationalize right from wrong and excuse myself from difficult situations.", Deon says.

Formerly signed on the spot by L.A. Reid and Sylvia Rhone under RCA's Imprint, Deon has proudly released the body of art that is "Retro King" independently alongside his Forever Young Family. He's excited for this new release and is ready for the world to move along to the music of Deon Young. He says, "I want Diddy control. I want my creative spin on Pop, Rap, Hip Hop and all genres combined. I admire that type of hustle." What do you think? Check out "Retro King" for yourself and let's set up some with Deon to talk about it!
