British house DJ and producer Hannah Wants today drops a dark and heavy new remix of French DJ/producer Born Dirty's motivational-speech-meets-synths-and-bass track "Get Up Get Out (feat. jstlbby)", out today via Mad Decent - stream/download here: maddecent.fm/getupgetoutrmx
While holding focus on lyrics by motivational Instagram star @jstlbby ["Put your mind to it / Put your grind to it / Get motivated" and "You are the motherf*** s / You are great / You are magnificent / You can do whatever you wanna do in this world / Get up / Get out / Get motivated"], Hannah Wants reimagines the track with her dancefloor-ready remix that echoes her triumphant return to the decks following an 18-month battle against breast cancer.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to put my spin onto this project," says Hannah Wants, real name Hannah Smith. "I really liked the vocal message and from the get go the idea was to bring a dark and heavy remix designed for the dance floor, I hope you like it!"
Hannah Wants will be guesting on Diplo's BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra show "Diplo and Friends" for an exclusive mix in the second hour next Saturday, November 17th. Tune in to the full episode, starting at 11pm GMT here .
Born Dirty stormed on to the scene in 2015 with the quirky banger "Don't Stop Get It" ft. Kid Sister, and quickly turned the heads of top DJs around the world, as well as Apple, who featured the track in their new MacBook Pro campaign.
Immediately following his launch, some of the industry's most notable labels and tastemakers jumped on the project, with instantaneous support from OWSLA, Dirtybird, Mad Decent, Fool's Gold, Night Bass, and Insomniac Records. His eclectic taste typically serves up a blend of Hip Hop, House, and Techno, but his French attitude and style continues to bend both genres and expectations.
Born Dirty is on quite the run in 2018, fresh off performing at some of the world's most premiere festivals - HARD Summer, Electric Daisy Carnival, Shambala, and Splash House to name a few. His rise continues with new releases on Mad Decent - "Badass" w/ Anna Lunoe and "Get Up Get Out" w/ jstlbby - which are consistently spun at festivals and nightclubs everywhere.
After spending time in studios between London and Los Angeles, and touring Asia, Australia and more, Born Dirty now has a slew of heaters ready to unleash onto the dance floor.
