HMI to Hold Benefit Concert Featuring Music of Corigliano & More 5/5

The Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI, home of the Harvey Milk School and New York City-based non-profit organization devoted to LGBTQ youth) is presenting a benefit concert at Grace Church Newark on May 5. This show features the music of Pulitzer Prize, Academy Award and Grammy Award winning composer John Corigliano, Mark Adamo, and Conrad Cummings among others.

The concert takes place at Grace Church Newark (950 Broad St. in Newark, NJ). Premium tickets at $75 include pre-concert champagne reception at 3:00pm with HMI Executive Director Thomas Krever. General Admission tickets are priced at $25. Proceeds to benefit the Hetrick-Martin Institute in Newark and the Music Society of Grace Church.

Baritone Timothy McDevitt (recent: NyPhil Carousel, New York Festival of Song, Festival Aix en Provence, Juilliard Opera) and mezzo-soprano Lacey Jo Benter (recent: Juilliard Opera, Central City Opera, NY Phil) are headlining the event along with sopranos Abigail Lennox and Amelia Watkins. Pianists Evan Fein and Brain Wagorn will join them, along with guitarist Joao Kouyoumdjian. Other composers include; Jeremy Howard Beck, Kendall Durelle Briggs, Evan Fein, Michael Gilbertson, Joseph Hallman, Marie Incontrera, Emilia Tamburri, and Conrad Winslow. Joseph Arnt, director of music at Grace Church Newark, is the event coordinator.
