The Jewish Museum will present Gustafer Yellowgold, a concert for families featuring award-winning illustrator/songwriter Morgan Taylor, on Sunday, December 15 at 2 pM. Taylor developed the Gustafer Yellowgold experience as equal parts pop rock concert and minimally animated movie. A storyteller with a comedic bent, Taylor has dreamed up a world of catchy and original story-songs about Gustafer (a friendly guy from the sun who landed in the Minnesota woods), performed alongside a large screen displaying vividly colored animations with karaoke-style subtitles. Gustafer resides in a cottage with his menagerie of friends, including his pet eel; Slim, a tuxedo-wearing pterodactyl best friend; and a dragon named Asparagus who inhabits the fireplace and loves corn on the cob.

This performance features the full Gustafer Yellowgold band, which will be presenting an array of favorite tunes from all five award-winning DVD/CD sets, including such Gustafer classics as "I'm from the Sun" and the new single, "Rock Melon."

Tickets are $18 per adult; $13 per child; $15 adult Jewish Museum family level member; and $11 child Jewish Museum family level member. This concert is for children age 3 and up. Adults are asked to accompany their children. For further information regarding family programs at The Jewish Museum, the public may call 212.423.3337. Concert tickets can be purchased online at TheJewishMuseum.org/familyconcerts. The Jewish Museum is located at Fifth Avenue and 92nd Street, Manhattan.

Created by Morgan Taylor in 2005, Gustafer Yellowgold has been acclaimed by The New York Times as "a cross between Yellow Submarine and Dr. Seuss." Entertainment Weekly praised "...the most infectious original songs. It's like tapping into some pleasure center in the brain - both adult and kid...absurdly appealing." "Mint Green Bee" from Gustafer Yellowgold's Wide Wild World was a Grand Prize Winner in the Children's Category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Gustafer Yellowgold DVD/CD sets include Gustafer Yellowgold's Wide Wild World, Gustafer Yellowgold's "Have You Never Been Yellow?", Gustafer Yellowgold's Mellow Fever, Gustafer Yellowgold's Infinity Sock, and Gustafer Yellowgold's Year In The Day.

A native of Dayton, Ohio, Morgan Taylor moved to New York City in 1999. He has released several CDs, including the 70-song box set, Box of Monster. Taylor has a long and varied musical history that has seen him perform with such artists as Bob Dylan, Wilco, Natalie Merchant, Lisa Loeb, The Smithereens, and A Flock Of Seagulls. Taylor's other projects have included playing bass for The Autumn Defense (featuring John Stirratt and Pat Sansone from Wilco) and a recording project with Tony Award-winning songwriter Duncan Sheik.
