Gumbo NYC will present GUMBO at Canal Room, a dance party and live music event on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the sleek and intimate Canal Room, one of NYC's premiere performance venues. Doors open at 10:30 p.m. with headlining guest DJ Keo Nozari.
This special edition of GUMBO at Canal Room on July 15 will feature an exciting blend of live performances from Billboard charting artist Shontelle and the NYC debut of pop star 21st Century Girl, along with a dance floor by DJ Keo Nozari, 42Below Vodka open bars (11pm/2am), dirty sugar photography live photos, and more. This is the first time Brooklyn's popular gay dance party will take place in Manhattan. GUMBO in DUMBO repeats every first Friday of the month at Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO, Brooklyn - with a special August 19 party to celebrate the 2-year anniversary.

Shontelle:
Shontelle is a singer/songwriter born on October 4, 1983 in Barbados. In 2008, Shontelle moved to America so she could fulfill her dream of being a singer and songwriter. "T-Shirt," Shontelle's debut single, was released in July 2008 and reached number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100. Shontelle's debut album, Shontelligence, was released on November 18, 2008. The album reached number 115 on the Billboard 200. Shontelle's second album, No Gravity, was released on September 21, 2010, featuring collaborations with Bruno Mars,
Tony Kanal and Darkchild. No Gravity placed number 81 on the Billboard 200. The lead single from the album, "Impossible," was released in February 2010. It became her most successful single to date, reaching number thirteen on the Billboard Hot 100. The second single from the album, "Perfect Nightmare," was released in August 2010.
