Today, August 29th at 1pm PST, Los Angeles-based indie rock band Grouplove will return to The Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ, to put on an electrifying performance for 150 lucky fans. The band will be playing some of their big hits like "Tongue Tied", as well as previewing new tracks off their forthcoming sophomore album, Spreading Rumors (out September 17th).
The Grouplove story: Standing firmly on the middle ground between the quirky, staccato attack of Modest Mouse and the spirited, arena-ready roar of Arcade Fire, Los Angeles-based indie rock outfit Grouplove came to fruition in the late 2000s. The future quintet members began hashing out plans to meet up after being introduced at an art residency on the Greek island of Crete, and put some of the music they had been working on to tape back in LA. Grouplove's eponymous debut EP was released by Canvasback in 2010. While touring alongside Florence + The Machine early the following year, Grouplove managed to finalize plans for their full-length album, Never Trust a Happy Song, which appeared later that fall. The band tours with Australian group The Rubens this fall, spending 2 nights in each city to play small and unique venues. Their new album, Spreading Rumors, drops September 17th.Videos
