Porta Pizza and Lakehouse Music Academy present the award-winning kindie music duo Play Date, with special guests, The Lakehouse Lollies, in a concert of interactive, feel-good, rocking tunes for the whole family, celebrating the release of Play Date's brand new album, We All Shine, today, July 18 at Porta Pizza, 911 Kingsley Street, Asbury Park, NJ. Doors will open at 2:00 p.m., and the music will start at 2:30 p.m.

Greg Attonito (New Jersey native, lead vocalist and founding member of punk legends The Bouncing Souls) and singer/songwriter Shanti Wintergate are the husband-and-wife team at the heart of Play Date. They'll bring their guitars and their infectious, positive energy to Asbury Park, playing fan favorites like "Dance Like a Monster," "Anyone Can Sing," and "Rad," as well as debuting tunes from their new album, We All Shine. Play Date's record release festivities will include lots of fun, celebration, collaborative drawing, and door prizes! Food and beverages will be available for purchase, as well.

Set for release on the July 24th, We All Shine is filled with soulful, stylish, and unforgettable tunes, each one crafted with a sophistication that will surprise even the grumpiest of grownups. Listeners will hear flecks of garage rock, dancehall, pop, and synth, with influences ranging from Patsy Cline to They Might Be Giants.

The goal of Play Date's music is to inspire children to use their imaginations -- and their dance moves -- to explore the world around them. The aptly named and critically praised 2012 Play Date debut album, Imagination, was honored with a NAPPA Silver Award, a Parents' Choice "Fun Stuff" Award, and a Creative Child "Seal of Excellence" Award.

The inspiration for Play Date can be traced to I Went for a Walk, an award-winning children's book released in 2007, written by Shanti Wintergate with illustrations by Greg Attonito. To promote the book, Shanti and Greg toured the U.S. as an author/illustrator team, performing music as part of their program. The positive response to their music was heartening and planted the seed that would, five years later, blossom as Play Date.

Today, Play Date tours coast to coast, bringing its magical music to performing arts centers, schools, libraries, and community centers, while also rocking some of the biggest, most notable music events of the year, including Austin City Limits, Treefort Music Fest, Yo Gabba Gabba Live, Lollapalooza, and Kindiecomm.
