Grammy Nominees Chris 'Big Dog' Davis and Maysa Set for the Waterbury Palace Theater, Today

ACT JAMS Productions presents "An Up Close and Personal Event" with Connecticut's own music genius, two-time Grammy nominee writer and producer, Chris "Big Dog" Davis, featuring vocalist and Grammy nominee Maysa and Friends, and recording artists Lamone Andrews and Dawn Tallman on Friday, Nov. 27, at 8 p.m. at the Waterbury Palace Theater.

Hosted by Al Taylor, radio personality and programmer for 94.3 WYBC-FM's "Smooth Jazz Sundays," this intimate concert event promises and unforgettable evening of Smooth Jazz and R&B music in the Palace's orchestra lobby.

Seating is general admission, and $35 tickets can be purchased online at www.palacetheaterct.org by phone at 203-346-2000, or in person at the Box Office, 100 East Main Street in Waterbury.

Immediately following the concert, patrons will be invited to take to the dance floor for an "Old School Dance Party" featuring R&B, funk, house and club classics spun by DJ Jay Lang (94.3 WYBC-FM).

Christopher J. Davis, known as "Big Dog," is a Waterbury, Conn. native and two-time Grammy nominated writer and producer, who has earned nine Billboard top #1 smooth jazz records since 2008. Chris received a Grammy nomination in 2014 for his work with singer/songwriter "Maysa" on her "Blue Velvet Soul" CD. Chris and co-producer Gerald Albright received a Grammy nomination in 2015 for their CD "Slam Dunk" in the category of "Best Contemporary Instrumental Album." Chris has also worked with artists such as the multi-Grammy nominated Gerald Albright, Will Downing, Phil Perry, Najee, Brian McKnight, Chante' Moore, the late Vesta Williams, gospel giant Kim Burrell, Floacist, Glenn Jones, Miki Howard, Melba Moore, Marion Meadows, and George Clinton to mention a few.

Grammy-nominated Soul/Jazz diva Maysa, a Baltimore native, is celebrating her twentieth year as a solo recording artist and is one of the few singers on the contemporary scene who has a a unique and instantly identifiable vocal sound. There are even fewer who have the stylistic range to encompass both Jazz and R&B in their performances, and her new album "BACK 2 LOVE," is a tour-de-force that validates her status as the greatest Soul-Jazz singer of her generation. Maysa was the lead singer of the acclaimed British Jazz/Funk/R&B band Incognito for four-and-a-half years. Lamone, a Waterbury, Conn. native, is a multi- talented, vocalist, songwriter and producer who has toured at home and abroad with smooth jazz pioneer, NAJEE. Lamone sang lead vocals on the "Fallin in Love" track featured on Najee's My Point of View CD, and his music is played all over the world and available online.

Dawn, a Danbury, Conn. native, began singing in the house of God from childhood and has expanded her body of work into the R&B and Dance scenes. Recently, she hit the number #1 spot in the Billboard Dance Charts with her song "Feel The Vibe" with Bob Sinclair. slaagrecords.com/dawn-tallman-epk
