Legendary Reggae artist Barrington Levy unveils a powerful single, "G.S.O.A.T," from his upcoming album Survivor. In addition to the track, the single is paired with a telling music video, speaking of perseverance, strength and the blessing of life.
The video, premiering on Vevo - March 24, was directed by Donovan Howard and filmed in Kingston, Jamaica in multiple locations, which include near by communities as Half Way Tree, Red Hills and Jungle. It boasts cameo appearances by Reggae nostalgia, Sly and Robbie, Jah Screw and George Phang.
TheSurvivor album is a collaborative effort among Black Roses Label, Platinum Camp Records, Stoopid Records (Slightly Stoopid), and Zojak World Wide and is a follow-up to his 2015 Grammy Nominated acoustic project, Acousticalevy. Survivor will feature gripping collaborations by Grammy winning artist Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, and the lovers rock bonafide star, Beres Hammond and many more.
On the just released single, "G.S.O.A.T," the internationally famed artist sings, "We are the great survivors and we are blessed to be alive, ya'all;" a testament to an at times, tumultuous world. "We all have faced some difficult times in our lives. This song is for those people who have not crumbled under defeat. This song celebrates those who have the strength to carry on and be strong," says Levy.
Barrington Levy has been a stalwart and steadfast artist since the early eighties. He continues to captivate massive crowds with his charisma, fashion forward style, rich vocals and catchy lyrical expression. With a new single, video and upcoming album, Levy proves to be one of the most welcomed and successful mainstays in the Reggae scene.
