The GRAMMY Foundation® announced today that 142 talented high school students from 117 U.S. cities and 30 U.S. states have been selected as participants in the 12th annual GRAMMY Camp® program.

The Foundation's signature music industry camp for U.S. high school students will be held in Nashville, Tenn., from May 31-June 4 at Belmont University; Los Angeles from June 18-27 at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music; and in New York from July 31-Aug. 8 at Converse Rubber Tracks (in Brooklyn). This GRAMMY in the Schools® program is supported by Converse and Journeys. Additional program support is provided by Mrs. Mike Silverman, Hot Topic Foundation, RBC Foundation USA, and other individual donors.

"From the beginning, GRAMMY Camp was designed to give high school students an extraordinary experience and hands-on lessons about making a career in the music industry," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy® and the GRAMMY Foundation. "Whether residential or day sessions, GRAMMY Camp fosters genuine learning and skill-building, and perhaps more importantly, a spirit of collaboration among the teenage participants that will benefit them in whatever professional paths they follow."

Applications for GRAMMY Camp 2017 will be online in September at www.grammyintheschools.com. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2017. Financial aid is available and approximately 90 percent of GRAMMY Camp participants who have applied for financial aid have received assistance.

GRAMMY Camp Nashville: May 31-June 4
The program offers selected high school students an interactive five-day nonresidential summer music experience. This unique opportunity focuses on all aspects of commercial music and provides instruction by industry professionals in an immersive, creative environment with cutting-edge technology in professional facilities. The camp features four music career tracks: Audio Engineering; Songwriting; Vocal Performance; and a Performance Instrumental track for bass, drums, guitar, and keyboards. All students will have the opportunity to showcase what they learn during camp at an open house, which will be held during the last day of camp. GRAMMY Camp Nashville will be held at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.
