Gramma Rec Rings In New Year For House Music

Picked up by the recently honoured broadcasting legend Pete Tong MBE back in 2007, Sonny Zamolo's rise to prominence as a DJ and Producer has been well documented around the world and you'll hear his music on a regular basis on track lists of many of the top DJs in the business. As a regular on Aron Scott's Monochrome Music, he's already stacking up a quality and varied discography and as the New Year starts, so does his next move 'The Bund' released now with global House authority Gramma Rec.

'The Bund' is a smooth and uplifting House workout carefully laced with tribalistic drums rhythms, giving it characteristics of a live performance, which are enhanced by the striking piano chords that smoothly cut through the bass and drums to swing the track. The synths are subtly Balearic and evoke thoughts of the summer ahead of us, a vibe that's not lost on most of Sonny's cuts. Reverb rinsed drum fills lift the track from section to section as numerous supporting synths and melodies roll in and out along the track's length. Once again Sonny's production hits the spot and leaves you feeling good.

Named after the Shanghai district 'The Bund' alongside the Huangpu River in front of the towers of Pudong - the track encapsulates the spirit of the district which is famously laced with gastronomic restaurants, lounge bars and the city's most prestigious night clubs. Turning a region into a sound is no mean feat, but Sonny's done a stellar job and we wouldn't have expected anything less from the talented producer.

Packaged with a huge remix package fronted by the always-reliable Criminal Vibes among others, this is a well-presented package that deserves a space in any House music lover's library.
