International Youth Fellowship (IYF) today announced they have partnered with Gracias Choir to offer Gracias Christmas Cantata free to the general public. Gracias Choir, an international award-winning choral and orchestral group, will perform their signature Gracias Christmas Cantata, a three-stage musical Christmas concert at the United Palace Theater on Broadway between 176th and 175th streets for 2 days, on January 6th and January 7th 2017 at 7:00 PM. The show is the first event of the 2017 US Cantata Tour, hosted by the IYF, aimed to change communities from the hearts of the people by spreading the Christmas joy through world-class culture to all communities, underserved or not.

Gracias Christmas Cantata boasts a very diverse repertoire-the nativity scene in Bethlehem to cherished Christmas songs for the family and finally Handel's glorious Messiah. Attendees can expect to see a moving opera, contemporary musical, and traditional choir and orchestra, all on one stage. Gracias Christmas Cantata does not just entertain. It leaves that warm fuzzy feeling in your family, no matter the time of year.

This year will mark the 4th anniversary the Gracias Christmas Cantata has performed at the United Palace Theater. The January 6th show will be one of the biggest yet with a debut of all-new music, stages, and messages at United Palace Theater's 3,500 seat auditorium. The power of music brings families and communities together and the choir loves watching communities transform through their music. These yearly Cantatas truly reflect the progressive change of the communities, as a large part of the budget comes from the generosity of the local businesses.

"No matter where we go, we see the impact music and the Christmas spirit has on the audience," said Taeyoung Kim, Gracias Choir deputy director. "Most people would say that Christmas is only a day in December, but we're showing people everywhere that it's a time of joy where peace and happiness can replace the difficulties and hardships of daily life. It's just like how Jesus Christ brought hope into this world through his birth two thousand years ago."

Joey Hahm, Director of Public Relations at IYF, added, "The Christmas Cantata is the end goal we want for our IYF students to envision: True volunteerism with hopes to change communities, deliverance of that hope, and strengthening of the communities to keep an open heart in our daily lives."
