Garage-Soul Legends Barrence Whitfield and The Savages Release First Ever Music Video

Boston garage-soul legends Barrence Whitfield and Savages have released their FIRST-EVER music video, an intergalactic animated adventure for their new song "Let's Go to Mars." Directed by Eric Baconstrip of UK R&B punk band King Salami and the Cumberland 3, watch the video now via PopMatters.

Behold! Barrence Whitfield & The Savages' FIRST-EVER music video! That's right, the band's intergalactic video for new song "Let's Go to Mars" is the first in their nearly 40-year stretch as garage rock titans. Directed by King Salami and the Cumberland 3's Eric Baconstrip.

As guitarist Peter Greenberg puts it, "'Let's Go to Mars' was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico when our bassist Phil Lenker visited me to write songs for the new LP... We happened to be watching the Sun Ra documentary 'A Joyful Noise' one evening, and it led us down a certain path..." (Barrence & the boys played several shows with Sun Ra back in the '80s.)

The band has also just announced a giant European tour to follow their U.S. album release tour this spring. Dates below.
