GRAMMY CAMP Teen Participants to Perform at 2012 Grammy Events 2/8-12

Thirty talented high school students- representing 30 cities and 12 states from across the United States - who have been selected for positions in GRAMMY Camp - Jazz Session will travel to Los Angeles for a weeklong musical adventure under the direction of Justin DiCioccio of the Manhattan School of Music, Dr. Leila Heil of University of Colorado Boulder, and Dr. Ron McCurdy of the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. They will be launched into the spotlight surrounding the 54th Annual GRAMMY® Awards through performances at a number of public GRAMMY Week events, including an appearance at the third annual GRAMMY In The Schools® Live! - A Celebration Of Music & Education (sponsored by Ford Motor Company Fund and theStarkey Hearing Foundation with support fromBest Buy, Converse, and94.7 the Wave). This special evening, which is open to the public, will showcase Jazz Session members, along with student alumni from GRAMMY Camp and GRAMMY Signature Schools, with host Pat Prescott from 94.7 the Wave, and special performances by current GRAMMY nominee Terri Lyne Carrington and GRAMMY-winning artist Anthony Hamilton on Feb. 8, at University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Jazz Session members will offer another public performance at Spaghettini Fine Dining & Entertainment withcurrent GRAMMY nominees Joe Lovano andArturo O'Farrill on Feb. 9. GRAMMY Camp - Jazz Session members will also perform Feb. 10 at the 22nd annual MusiCares®Person of the Year tribute, which will honor Paul McCartney. Legendary Capitol Studios & Mastering will again be provided by EMI Music Group for Jazz Session members to record an album on Feb. 10–11. This year's recording will join the lineup of previous albums available for purchase at online music outlets such as Amazon and iTunes. As a grand finale, Jazz Session members will attend the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Feb. 12 as guests of The Recording Academy® and perform at the GRAMMY Celebration® after-party.

GRAMMY Camp - Jazz Session is supported in part by Best Buy, Converse, and the Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation. Additional support is provided by Capitol Studios & Mastering (EMI Music Group), Centerstaging -A SoundCheck LA Company, Gibson, Guitar Center Hollywood, Shure, and Zildjian.

Feb. 8: at 7 p.m. Dinner, 7:30 p.m. Performance GRAMMY In The Schools Live! at USC, Grand Ballroom, with GRAMMY nominee Terri Lyne Carrington, GRAMMY winner, Anthony Hamilton and host Pat Prescott from 94.7 the Wave (3607 Trousdale Parkway Los Angeles, CA 90089; 310-581-8682).
